National Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement

A National Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) is a single, comprehensive, and concise policy document introduced by the Department of Basic Education for all the subjects listed in the National Curriculum Statement for Grades R - 12. The CAPS system enables our educational professionals to work within the school environment to meet and address: Adequate yearly progress (AYP) for each learner. Which allows each of our learners to become Response to intervention (RTI), and to help them cultivate Positive behaviour support (PBS) in a common-sense format.
