The Journey To Educating A Community - Year 1996

Another private school in Pietersburg, the Myngenoegen English Private School was recently registered. At present 10 teachers are instructing 200 children (Grade 1 - Standard 5). The number of scholars is increasing daily. Mr Jeff de Beer is the newly appointed headmaster. He is an experienced teacher, well known in Pietersburg. He was teacher head of department (Afrikaans) and deputy principal at Westenburg Secondary school. He sees his appointment as a new challenge and an opportunity.

Betty’s Centre - This Centre Is A Haven For Many Children

Betty’s day and night care centre developed into a haven for many children. Vegetable gardens are planned to make the centre self-sufficient.

The foundations for new buildings, a proper kitchen, storeroom, laundry and cold storage, have already been dug. A mini traffic lane to make the children aware of road safety and a mini town are being planned. Betty’s dream is rapidly growing and parents are enrolling more children daily.
